Network International has taken another decisive step in its regional growth strategy by naming Görkem Köseoğlu as Group Chief Customer and AI Officer. The move highlights how Network International is reshaping its leadership team at a time when the fintech sector is rapidly shifting toward AI-driven solutions.
A broader AI mandate
Instead of focusing only on customer operations, Network International has expanded the role to cover product, marketing and analytics. The company says this shift will accelerate its next phase of innovation. Moreover, the expanded mandate places Network International in a stronger position to integrate artificial intelligence across its business lines.
Köseoğlu will steer the firm’s AI roadmap, push new product development, and guide the teams responsible for customer engagement. The company believes this structure will help deliver faster execution and deeper market impact.
A leader with deep transformation experience
Before joining Network International, Köseoğlu spent more than three decades building and scaling digital transformation models. He served in several senior global roles at ING, including Chief Analytics Officer and Group CTO. During that period, he also set up the bank’s global analytics unit and led large-scale operational transformations.
Because of this background, Network International expects him to embed AI and data intelligence more tightly into its payment infrastructure and commercial operations.
A new chapter after the Magnati merger
The appointment comes shortly after the chain completed its merger with Magnati. The combined entity is now the largest fintech platform across the Middle East and Africa. Furthermore, Network International says the unified platform will speed up financial inclusion and introduce smarter, safer and more seamless payment experiences for millions of users.
Looking ahead
Köseoğlu said he aims to improve customer journeys across all markets by deploying new tools and digital capabilities. He added that Network International’s next growth wave will focus on simplifying the way people transact and helping businesses maximise scale and data insights.
With more than 3,000 employees, operations in 50+ markets and partnerships with hundreds of banks and merchants, the company says it is positioned to redefine how payments and commerce evolve in the region.
