The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has launched a new AI training program for 215 university students from across the Kingdom, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to developing a highly skilled national workforce in artificial intelligence and data science.

SDAIA welcomes 215 students from 28 Saudi universities

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has started a new training program for 215 male and female students from 28 universities at its headquarters in Riyadh. The initiative aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s artificial intelligence and data capabilities by preparing university students for future careers in advanced technologies.

The program forms part of SDAIA’s broader strategy to develop national talent and support the Kingdom’s digital transformation agenda. Moreover, it aligns with Saudi Arabia’s long-term vision of becoming a global leader in data and AI innovation.

Program combines classroom learning with practical industry experience

Through the SDAIA Academy, participants will receive structured training in data science, artificial intelligence, computer science, and emerging technologies. The curriculum combines academic knowledge with practical workplace experience, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world environments.

In addition, students will work on high-impact projects while gaining exposure to modern technologies and industry best practices. This approach helps bridge the gap between university education and labor market requirements.

Partnerships with universities strengthen Saudi AI ecosystem

SDAIA continues to expand its collaboration with universities and educational institutions across Saudi Arabia. These partnerships ensure that students receive industry-relevant training while helping universities align their academic programs with the country’s evolving digital economy.

Furthermore, the authority aims to create a sustainable pipeline of qualified Saudi professionals capable of supporting national AI initiatives across both the public and private sectors.

Initiative supports Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026

The latest training program also supports the objectives of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026, which focuses on accelerating AI adoption and developing local expertise.

By enhancing both academic and practical skills, SDAIA seeks to prepare graduates for high-value technology roles. As a result, the initiative strengthens Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness while supporting the Kingdom’s vision of building a knowledge-based economy powered by artificial intelligence.
