Omanisation, Labour Law and Oman HR News

Omanisation is the Sultanate’s workforce nationalisation policy, requiring private sector employers to meet sector-specific quotas for hiring Omani nationals. It is administered by the Ministry of Labour and sits alongside Oman Vision 2040, the Social Protection Fund and the Labour Law issued under Royal Decree 53/2023, which reset notice periods, end-of-service entitlements and termination rules for every employer in the country. Omanisation is also written Omanization.

StrongYes covers HR, hiring, recruitment, labour law, executive appointments and workplace technology across Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Duqm and the free zones. This Country Desk is for CHROs, HR heads, recruiters and business leaders who need to know what is changing and what it means for their workforce.
