Sophos has appointed Fayez Eweidat as Vice President of Sales for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META), effective 20 October 2026. Based in Dubai, Eweidat will lead the cybersecurity company’s regional sales strategy and expand its enterprise and mid-market customer base.
Fayez Eweidat brings regional technology sales experience to Sophos
Eweidat joins Sophos from Juniper Networks, now part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). He spent eight years at Juniper Networks, most recently serving as head of enterprise for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.
His earlier roles include regional sales leadership positions at Brocade, Cisco and Apple. Across these organisations, Eweidat worked with enterprise and public sector customers in the UAE and the wider Middle East.
His experience spans technology sales, channel development and regional business expansion. He has also led teams, developed partner ecosystems and managed go to market strategies across cybersecurity and enterprise technology.
Sophos sets regional sales and partner priorities
In his new role, Eweidat will focus on three priorities: improving customer cyber resilience, expanding Sophos’ enterprise business and strengthening its partner and managed service provider ecosystem.
He will work with regional sales, channel and technical teams. Eweidat will report to Andy Travers, Senior Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The appointment comes as organisations across META pursue digital transformation and technology modernisation while managing cybersecurity risks. Sophos says customers increasingly seek partners that can simplify security operations and coordinate protection across endpoint, firewall, email, identity and cloud environments.
According to the Sophos 2026 State of Ransomware report, organisations in the UAE affected by ransomware reported an average recovery cost of US$665,000. The figure provides context for the cybersecurity challenges facing businesses in the market.
For Sophos, Eweidat’s remit combines regional revenue growth with the development of its sales and service partner network. The company says the appointment reflects continued investment in high growth markets and its focus on helping organisations strengthen cyber resilience.
Sophos leadership outlines expectations for the appointment
Andy Travers, Senior Vice President of Sales for EMEA at Sophos, said Eweidat brings regional expertise and a focus on customers and sustainable business growth.
“Organizations across META need security outcomes they can trust, delivered at the scale their operations demand,” Travers said. He added that Eweidat’s leadership would help Sophos grow its presence in a strategically important market.
Eweidat said organisations across the region were seeking better ways to manage cyber risk, reduce complexity and strengthen resilience.
He pointed to Sophos’ cybersecurity capabilities, threat intelligence and partner first approach as foundations for supporting customers. He also said he would work with regional teams and partners to understand customer needs and develop relationships.
