Johnny Dababneh has been appointed Head of Employee Banking at Commercial Bank Qatar, according to an announcement shared by the executive. Johnny Dababneh said in his post that, he has started the new role at one of Qatar’s leading financial institutions.
In the announcement, Johnny Dababneh said he looks forward to working with colleagues, strengthening employee banking partnerships, and contributing to the bank’s continued growth. He also thanked those who had supported him throughout his professional journey.
Leadership experience in retail banking
Johnny Dababneh brings more than 20 years of experience in retail banking across international and regional financial institutions in the MENA region, according to his LinkedIn profile. His background includes leadership roles in retail banking transformation, sales, product management, digital banking, customer experience, and branch network management.
Before joining Commercial Bank, Johnny Dababneh worked as an independent retail banking executive adviser and trainer. In that role, he advised financial institutions on retail banking transformation, sales, product development, digital channels, customer acquisition, and operating model redesign.
Earlier, Johnny Dababneh served as VP, Head of Retail Banking Sales, Products and Employee Banking at Bank ABC. He also held senior retail banking leadership positions at Bank of Jordan, Bank Audi, Societe Generale, Standard Chartered Bank, and HSBC.
Focus on employee banking
As Head of Employee Banking (CB@Work), Johnny Dababneh said he aims to strengthen employee banking partnerships while working alongside colleagues at Commercial Bank. The announcement did not provide further details about the responsibilities of the role or the bank’s wider leadership priorities.
