MTestHub has appointed Partha Roy Chowdhury as Strategic Partnerships Advisor for the MENA region. Chowdhury will focus on partnerships as the company promotes skills-based hiring through artificial intelligence (AI).
The appointment brings more than 30 years of experience in recruitment, employment media, marketing and HR technology to MTestHub. Chowdhury has worked across talent acquisition, employer branding, recruitment systems and healthcare hiring in the Middle East and other markets.
Partha Roy Chowdhury brings recruitment and HR technology experience
Chowdhury began his career in 1987 in cost accounting and internal audit at Philips Lighting. He later worked in investor relations at Mahindra & Mahindra, telecommunications at Hutchison Telecoms, and marketing and advertising roles across Indian media companies.
He moved into the UAE market in the 2000s. At Jerry Varghese Group, where he worked from 2007 to 2015, he held several recruitment support and business development responsibilities.
His work included specialist employment branding, healthcare licensing and training, credentialling, and applicant tracking systems. He also supported recruitment campaigns across multiple industries and international markets.
Chowdhury subsequently held leadership roles in executive search, healthcare recruitment, interview outsourcing and recruitment technology. From October 2022 to February 2024, he served as Regional Manager for the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific at TalentFind.
TalentFind focused on medical recruitment and matching candidates against job requirements and professional licensing criteria. This experience connects healthcare recruitment, regulatory requirements and technology-enabled candidate assessment.
MTestHub focuses on skills-based hiring
MTestHub uses AI-driven job simulations and adaptive evaluations to assess candidates against role requirements, according to the company’s announcement. The platform also includes anti-cheating proctoring tools.
Chowdhury said he spent six months evaluating the platform before accepting the advisory role. He believes recruitment needs to move beyond vague job descriptions and CVs that rely heavily on keywords rather than demonstrated skills.
In his statement, Chowdhury identified two recurring recruitment problems. Hiring teams may struggle to define clear shortlisting criteria, while candidates may fail to demonstrate their actual competencies through their CVs.
He also argued that AI tools cannot replace the domain knowledge needed to assess people for specialised roles. His position places skills validation and role-specific expertise at the centre of his approach to recruitment technology.
Strategic partnerships across the MENA region
As Strategic Partnerships Advisor, Chowdhury joins MTestHub with experience spanning employment communications, recruitment operations and technology-led talent assessment. His background includes building recruitment services and supporting employers across different industries.
The announcement does not identify specific partnership targets, markets beyond the stated MENA remit, or measurable objectives for the advisory role. It also does not detail a timeline for the company’s regional expansion.
MTestHub says its platform is designed to help employers assess candidates before interviews. The company also states that customers do not pay if they cannot hire through the platform.
Chowdhury’s appointment brings recruitment and HR technology experience to the company’s efforts to promote skills-based hiring across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
