Sara Abuobeid has been promoted to Director of Marketing & Communications at McDonald’s Qatar, marking a key leadership milestone in her career. The move reflects her strong track record in building brand impact and delivering measurable marketing outcomes across the quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector.

She assumed the new role in December 2025, after serving nearly three years as Senior Marketing & Communications Manager. During this time, she helped align marketing strategies with business goals while strengthening customer engagement.

Driving Strategic Marketing and Brand Growth

In her current role, Abuobeid leads the overall marketing strategy and communications agenda for McDonald’s Qatar. She works closely with cross-functional teams and agency partners to ensure campaigns remain consistent with business priorities.

Moreover, she focuses on delivering integrated campaigns that enhance brand visibility and deepen customer connections. Her leadership combines creative storytelling with data-driven decision-making, which continues to strengthen the brand’s market position.

Award-Winning Campaigns and Industry Recognition

Abuobeid’s tenure has been marked by several high-impact achievements. Notably, she played a central role in McDonald’s Qatar being named the #1 Best Workplace in Qatar for 2024 by Great Place to Work Middle East.

In addition, she led campaigns that earned:

  • Best CSR Initiative awards for Rahlatuna in 2022 and 2023
  • Multiple wins at the MMA Smarties Awards 2023
  • Recognition at the MEPRA Awards, including a Gold for Best Marketing Campaign in Qatar (2022)
  • Communication Excellence Award at McDonald’s MEA Awards 2022

Furthermore, she contributed to the brand’s FIFA World Cup activation campaigns, which received the prestigious Circle of Excellence Award in 2022.

Beyond commercial success, Abuobeid has also driven purpose-led initiatives. For instance, she helped launch the region’s first 100% all-female McDonald’s restaurant, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Before stepping into leadership roles, Abuobeid built a diverse international career. She held marketing roles at organizations such as University of Aberdeen, ATCO Group, Blind Ferret Entertainment, and Concordia University.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Concordia University. This academic background complements her strategic marketing expertise with strong analytical skills.
