Qualcomm Incorporated has appointed Wassim Chourbaji as Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The company announced that the appointment takes effect immediately.
Wassim Chourbaji will lead and execute Qualcomm’s strategy across the EMEA region. He will also oversee the company’s strategic priorities across its businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Wassim Chourbaji takes charge of Qualcomm EMEA
Chourbaji has spent more than 20 years at Qualcomm. During that time, he has held several leadership roles across the company.
Most recently, he served as President of Qualcomm Middle East and Africa. He also led Qualcomm’s government affairs organisation across the EMEA region.
His appointment expands his responsibilities from the Middle East and Africa to the wider EMEA business.
Enrico Salvatori moves to Chairman role
Qualcomm also announced a leadership transition involving Enrico Salvatori, who has led the company’s EMEA business for more than two decades.
Salvatori plans to retire from Qualcomm in June 2027 after completing 25 years with the company. Effective immediately, he has become Chairman and will continue leading Qualcomm’s EMEA Automotive business until his retirement.
Akash Palkhiwala, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Qualcomm Incorporated, said the EMEA region remains an important market for the company.
Palkhiwala said Chourbaji’s leadership experience, strategic vision and ability to build partnerships across industry and government have contributed to Qualcomm’s success. He added that Qualcomm remains committed to investing in the region’s long term growth.
Palkhiwala also thanked Salvatori for his leadership over the past 25 years. He said Salvatori built a strong organisation, expanded Qualcomm’s presence across key industries and developed relationships with customers, partners and governments throughout the region.
