According to ONA, Oman sustainable transport continues to gain momentum as the Youth Centre and Shell Oman Marketing concluded the third edition of the Electric Vehicle Experts (EV-Pro) programme. The initiative strengthened Oman youth sustainable transport technologies by providing practical training in electric vehicles, sustainability and green mobility while supporting Oman’s carbon neutrality goals for 2050.

Oman Sustainable Transport builds future ready skills

The Youth Centre and Shell Oman Marketing marked the completion of the third EV-Pro programme after several weeks of intensive learning. The programme ran from 19 July to 27 August 2026 and brought together 35 students from universities and colleges across the Sultanate.

Throughout the programme, participants strengthened their understanding of modern transport technologies. At the same time, they explored practical applications that prepare them for careers in the growing green mobility sector. As a result, Oman sustainable transport continues to create valuable learning opportunities for young talent.

EV Training prepares future mobility leaders successfully

Participants received hands-on exposure to electric vehicle technologies and industry practices. They studied charging infrastructure, transport planning, simulation models and vehicle maintenance. In addition, they learned how electric vehicles improve efficiency while helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Furthermore, the programme explained the economic value of electric mobility and highlighted how innovation supports sustainable development. Therefore, Oman sustainable transport is helping young people build skills that match future industry needs.

Environmental sustainability supports national goals

Beyond technical training, the programme focused on sustainability and climate awareness. Participants explored environmental challenges, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and methods for measuring environmental impact.

Moreover, interactive workshops encouraged students to develop practical solutions for local sustainability challenges. These activities aligned with Oman’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, while strengthening environmental responsibility among future professionals.

Oman Sustainable Transport drives Green mobility careers

The EV-Pro initiative also encouraged participants to connect technology with innovation. By combining technical knowledge with sustainability principles, the programme prepared young people for opportunities in the evolving transport sector.

As Oman continues investing in cleaner mobility and advanced technologies, the country is developing skilled professionals who can support its long-term environmental and economic ambitions.
