The event brought together ministers, international organisations, healthcare experts and decision-makers to discuss digital transformation in healthcare systems. Discussions focused on the growing use of artificial intelligence, data-driven technologies and digital governance within public health services.
Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, said trusted digital transformation now represents an essential governance requirement for health systems. He also highlighted the importance of balanced digital development and equal access to technology partnerships among countries.

Oman AI in healthcare supports digital transformation
Dr Hilal referred to the World Health Organization’s 14th General Programme of Work for 2025–2028, which identifies digital health and artificial intelligence as important tools for achieving universal health coverage and Sustainable Development Goals.
Officials said Oman AI in healthcare plans focus on leadership, long-term planning, investment and workforce capability development. Oman also shared its national experience in integrating digital systems within healthcare administration and planning.
Health authorities noted that digital transformation extends beyond technical systems and requires coordinated governance frameworks and continuous skills development. Officials also stressed the importance of sustainable investment in healthcare technology infrastructure and human resource training programmes.
Healthcare systems expand digital technology adoption
