As thousands of travellers remain stranded due to ongoing airspace disruptions, healthcare organisations across the UAE have stepped forward to provide free medical assistance and support services.
Community clinics and major healthcare providers are offering consultations, emergency medicines, and mental health services to tourists and visitors who have been unable to leave the country following flight disruptions.
One of the leading initiatives comes from the Pakistan Medical Center, located within the premises of the Pakistan Association Dubai in Dubai.
Pakistan Medical Center Offers Free Consultations and Medicines
The medical facility is providing free consultations, diagnostic tests, and medications to travellers affected by the airspace closures.
According to Dr. Nasim Sabir, Medical Director of the centre, the initiative aims to ensure that stranded travellers do not face health complications during their unexpected extended stay in the UAE.
“Travellers may have chronic conditions and could run out of their medicines, while others might develop seasonal illnesses. We are ready to support them with consultations and treatment,” Dr. Sabir said.
The centre operates seven days a week from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm and offers access to 37 medical specialties. A special fund has been allocated to cover treatment expenses for affected travellers.
Patients can receive free medical consultations, blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, and minor procedures. While the centre does not provide long-term medication supplies, it offers sufficient prescriptions to help travellers manage their conditions during their extended stay.
Established in 2020, the Pakistan Medical Center operates with support from the Dubai Health Authority and includes 62 volunteer doctors affiliated with leading hospitals across the UAE.
UAE Healthcare Groups Step Up with Emergency Support
Several healthcare organisations have also introduced support initiatives to assist tourists dealing with urgent medical concerns during the travel disruption.
Thumbay Healthcare has extended medical guidance and assistance to stranded passengers across its healthcare network.
Commenting on the initiative, Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of the group, emphasised the importance of accessible healthcare during times of uncertainty.
“At times when uncertainty affects communities, healthcare must remain a constant source of reassurance. The UAE has consistently demonstrated resilience and compassion in protecting the wellbeing of residents and visitors,” Moideen said.
Free Mental Health Consultations for Travellers
Meanwhile, Aster DM Healthcare has introduced free online mental well-being consultations through the myAster platform.
The initiative allows both residents and stranded tourists to book confidential video consultations with licensed psychologists from anywhere in the UAE. The service is aimed at supporting individuals experiencing stress or anxiety caused by sudden travel disruptions.
UAE’s Community Response Highlights Healthcare Preparedness
The coordinated response from healthcare institutions and community organisations reflects the UAE’s strong public health support system, particularly during unexpected travel disruptions.
With travellers facing delays and uncertainty, these initiatives aim to ensure that visitors continue to have access to essential medical services and emotional support during their stay in the country.
