Wipro launched its Wipro AI unit on April 1, 2026, alongside leadership changes and internal restructuring, as the company shifts toward AI-led platforms to strengthen services and align with evolving enterprise technology demands.
At the same time, the Wipro AI unit is designed to build and scale enterprise grade AI solutions across industries. It brings together platform assets, data capabilities, and workflow systems under one structure. As a result, the company can deliver integrated AI services instead of separate offerings.
What changed in Wipro AI unit strategy
The Wipro AI unit will operate alongside the company’s existing services business. It will focus on building AI driven platforms and enterprise solutions.
At the same time, the unit brings together platform assets such as NetOxygen, CROAMIS, and industry-specific solutions. This structure allows faster development and deployment of AI systems. Therefore, it reflects a shift toward “services as software” in enterprise delivery.
Corporate restructuring and leadership changes
As part of corporate restructuring, Nagendra Bandaru will lead the Wipro unit as CEO from April 1, 2026. Meanwhile, Kanwar Singh will take over his previous role in global business lines.
In addition, Suzanne Dann will exit the company on May 3, 2026. These changes align leadership with the new AI-focused direction. At the subsidiary level, Wipro completed mergers involving Capco RISC Consulting LLC and The Capital Markets Company, LLC. It also consolidated holdings to simplify the group structure.
Impact on Wipro AI unit and AI business services
The Wipro AI unit strengthens the company’s ability to deliver AI-powered transformation. It supports data workflows, decision systems, and infrastructure development.
As a result, clients can access integrated AI platforms instead of fragmented services. This also improves scalability and execution speed. Furthermore, the unit positions the company within a competitive AI services market.
Supporting statements and strategic direction
CEO Srini Pallia said the move improves Wipro’s ability to deliver measurable outcomes. He added that the company can now scale AI platforms faster and expand growth opportunities.
He also highlighted investments in data systems, workflows, and infrastructure as key to long-term strategy. The Wipro unit marks a structural shift in how the company delivers services. Combined with corporate restructuring, it reflects a move toward integrated AI platforms and updated leadership alignment.
