Infosys fresher hiring FY27 will bring in at least 20,000 recruits, the company said on April 23, 2026, in India, even as its workforce fell by over 8,000 in the March quarter due to softer demand and utilisation changes. The company maintained that this decline was temporary and linked to project volumes rather than structural cuts. It also added that hiring plans remain steady to support future demand and build entry-level talent pipelines.

Infosys fresher hiring FY27 continues despite workforce changes

Infosys fresher hiring FY27 remains aligned with last year’s intake levels. The company confirmed it hired over 20,000 freshers in the previous year and plans a similar intake again. However, overall headcount declined sequentially during the March quarter.

The company said the reduction linked to demand conditions rather than structural cuts. It also indicated that workforce numbers depend on project volumes and utilisation levels.

Why Infosys is hiring 20000 freshers in FY27

Infosys fresher hiring FY27 reflects a focus on long-term talent supply. The company continues campus hiring to build future capacity. At the same time, it is adjusting lateral hiring based on near-term demand.

Executives said hiring depends on demand and supply balance. Softer volumes led to a temporary drop in workforce numbers. However, the company does not expect a continuous decline in staffing.

Infosys fresher hiring FY27 highlights a broader trend in the IT sector. Companies are maintaining fresher intake while controlling experienced hiring. This approach helps manage costs during uncertain demand cycles.

At the same time, firms are shifting toward digital and AI skills even at entry levels. As a result, hiring patterns are evolving across the industry.

Revenue performance and demand outlook

Infosys reported revenue of ₹46,402 crore in the March quarter. This marked a 13.4% rise year-on-year but a 1.3% sequential decline in constant currency terms. For the full year, revenue reached ₹1,78,650 crore, up 9.6%.

The company also crossed $20 billion in annual revenue. However, it guided for 1.5% to 3.5% growth in constant currency for FY27, indicating cautious demand conditions.
