Bahrain AI strategy expands public services

Mohammed Ali Al Qaed said Bahrain continues to increase the use of AI across government services and digital systems. The country has introduced AI-powered tools for business analytics, document verification, and consumer protection as part of its wider digital transformation plans.

The Bahrain AI strategy also focuses on strengthening regulatory frameworks linked to ethical AI governance. Bahrain follows GCC-level principles designed to support responsible AI adoption across public and private sectors. Authorities are also reviewing digital governance systems to improve transparency, service delivery, and operational efficiency across ministries and public institutions.

Bahrain AI strategy strengthens AI skills and training

Bahrain is increasing investments in workforce development through AI education and training programs. Tamkeen plans to support the training of 50,000 Bahrainis in artificial intelligence by 2030 as part of the country’s long-term technology roadmap.

More than 70 academic programs related to AI have also launched through partnerships involving universities, private companies, and civil society organizations. These programs support Bahrain national AI strategy development by preparing students and professionals for digital economy jobs. Officials said the programs aim to increase technical expertise and expand employment opportunities linked to emerging technologies and digital services.

Cloud investments support digital innovation

The Bahrain AI strategy includes investments in cloud computing infrastructure, innovation labs, and entrepreneurship support systems. Officials said these projects aim to improve technology adoption and support businesses working in AI and digital services.

Government entities are also working with technology partners to improve digital operations and public sector efficiency. Bahrain continues to position digital infrastructure as a key part of its economic diversification plans. Authorities are also encouraging startups and technology firms to develop AI-based solutions that can support both government operations and private sector growth.

Bahrain enhances regional technology collaboration
