Ahmad El Bitar has taken on the role of Global TRS Engineering Director at Nabors Industries, alongside his existing position as Eastern Hemisphere Engineering Director. Based in Dubai, El Bitar assumed the expanded role in June 2026, according to his professional profile.

The appointment expands his engineering leadership responsibilities across the company’s global TRS operations. El Bitar brings experience in engineering management, operational leadership, manufacturing, reliability improvement and organisational development within the energy sector.

Ahmad El Bitar’s engineering leadership experience

El Bitar has held several engineering and operational leadership positions across the energy industry. Before his expanded role at Nabors Industries, he served as Director of Engineering for the Eastern Hemisphere from May 2025 to June 2026.

He joined Nabors Industries after more than three years at Parker Wellbore, where he held successive engineering and operational leadership positions in Dubai. From February 2024 to April 2025, he served as Director of Operations for the Eastern Hemisphere.

Earlier, El Bitar was Engineering Manager for the Eastern Hemisphere from October 2022 to February 2024. He began his tenure at Parker Wellbore as Engineering Team Leader in March 2022, a position he held until September that year.

His earlier career includes more than seven years at NOV, where he worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer between 2013 and 2020. He also worked as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer at Jieh Thermal Power Station in Beirut from 2011 to 2013.

El Bitar’s professional background centres on building engineering organisations, improving operational reliability and aligning technical functions with business objectives. His experience spans drilling, capital equipment, manufacturing, sustaining engineering and operational excellence.

Academic background and professional development

El Bitar holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with an Aerospace option from the University of Balamand, which he completed in 2011. He later earned a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, graduating with high honours and as the top graduate, according to his professional profile.

He is also a full member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET). His additional qualifications include a Professional Diploma in Project Management, a Certified Finance Professional qualification and diplomas in Team Management and Motivation, and Leadership and Management.

In 2024, El Bitar also completed the GM Leadership Academy through the Parker Wellbore Leadership Academy, adding executive learning to his technical and operational experience.
