The Cove Rotana Resort Ras Al Khaimah has appointed hospitality veteran Azmi Shalaby as its new General Manager, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and long-term growth.

The appointment marks a significant step for the five-star beachfront destination as it continues to strengthen its position among Ras Al Khaimah’s leading leisure resorts. Shalaby will oversee all aspects of the property’s operations and guide its strategic development in line with Rotana’s hospitality standards.

Focus on Elevating Guest Experiences and Commercial Performance

In his new role, Shalaby will lead efforts to enhance the guest journey while driving operational efficiency and commercial growth. He will also oversee new guest-focused initiatives and experiences designed to strengthen the resort’s appeal in the competitive hospitality market.

Furthermore, the leadership transition supports Rotana’s broader strategy of delivering exceptional hospitality experiences across its regional portfolio.

Commenting on his appointment, Shalaby said, “I am pleased to join The Cove Rotana Resort Ras Al Khaimah at such an exciting stage in its journey. The resort already holds a unique position within the region’s hospitality landscape. I look forward to working closely with the team to enhance the guest experience, build on the property’s strong reputation, and continue creating memorable stays through genuine hospitality and operational excellence.”

Nearly Three Decades of Hospitality Leadership

Shalaby brings almost 30 years of hospitality experience to the role. He began his career in 1996 and later held several leadership positions with InterContinental Hotels Group before joining Rotana in 2008.

His long association with Rotana includes 18 successful years at Grand Rotana Resort & Spa, where he played a key role in improving operational standards, guest satisfaction scores, and commercial performance. During his tenure, the property earned several industry recognitions and awards.

As a result, Shalaby has developed deep expertise in resort management, team leadership, strategic planning, and service excellence. These capabilities position him well to lead the next phase of growth at The Cove Rotana Resort.

Strengthening Ras Al Khaimah’s Hospitality Landscape

The appointment comes at a time when Ras Al Khaimah continues to attract growing numbers of international visitors and tourism investments. Consequently, experienced hospitality leaders are playing an increasingly important role in elevating service standards and supporting the emirate’s tourism ambitions.

Industry observers expect Shalaby’s extensive experience and operational knowledge to further strengthen the resort’s market position while enhancing guest satisfaction and business performance.
