Lenovo has appointed Dr. Rabeah Alzaidy to lead its Research and Development initiatives in Saudi Arabia.
Lenovo announced the appointment on 25 August 2026 as it continues to expand its investment across manufacturing, talent development and innovation in the Kingdom.
Dr. Rabeah Alzaidy brings over 15 years of AI and research experience
Dr. Rabeah Alzaidy brings more than 15 years of experience in artificial intelligence, research and technology innovation to the role.
Dr. Alzaidy holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. She also completed postdoctoral research at Pennsylvania State University and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
In addition, Dr. Alzaidy completed Executive Leadership training at the University of California, Berkeley.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Alzaidy served as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Dr. Alzaidy also managed strategic projects for Aramco. She later led strategic AI initiatives as a Research Consultant for the National Center for Artificial Intelligence within the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.
Most recently, Dr. Alzaidy held leadership roles at Lucid Motors and HUMAIN. In those positions, she worked on AI strategy and research and development initiatives across emerging technology domains.
Lenovo expands its research and development capabilities in Saudi Arabia
Dr. Rabeah Alzaidy will lead Lenovo’s Research and Development initiatives in Saudi Arabia.
The role includes expanding Lenovo’s local innovation capabilities and strengthening collaboration with universities, researchers and industry partners.
Dr. Alzaidy will also work with Lenovo’s global technology teams.
According to Lenovo, the appointment supports its ambition to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s growing research ecosystem. The company also aims to accelerate the development of technologies designed in Saudi Arabia for regional and global markets.
The Research and Development function will form part of Lenovo’s wider presence in the Kingdom. Lenovo’s investment in Saudi Arabia also includes regional headquarters, manufacturing, talent development and innovation.
The company said these activities support its contribution to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambitions.
