Ali Al Lawati has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer at Vodafone Oman, where he will oversee the company’s commercial strategy and customer focused digital initiatives. In the role, he is responsible for accelerating revenue growth, strengthening customer experience and supporting Vodafone Oman’s vision to digitalise the Omani way of life through differentiated digital services.
The appointment follows more than two decades of leadership across technology, telecommunications, engineering and commercial management.Before joining Vodafone Oman, Ali Al Lawati held senior leadership roles at Cisco, Nasma and Petroleum Development Oman. Across these organisations, he built experience in technology leadership, commercial strategy, project delivery and customer transformation, bringing more than two decades of expertise to his new role.
Ali Al Lawati’s leadership journey
Ali Al Lawati has built a career across technology vendors, systems integration and enterprise customers. His experience covers engineering, project delivery, operations, sales, commercial leadership and executive management.
Before joining Vodafone Oman, he served as Country Leader for Oman and Yemen at Cisco, a position he held from December 2017 until May 2026. In that role, he worked with customers on digital transformation strategies, technology roadmaps and business cases while leading Cisco’s operations across the two markets.
Earlier, Al Lawati was Chief Executive Officer of Nasma, an IT and communications solutions provider and systems integrator. During his tenure, the company delivered technology solutions covering networking, telecommunications infrastructure, data centres, cloud infrastructure, collaborative working environments, security solutions and enterprise software across sectors including energy, utilities, telecommunications, government, banking and healthcare.
Prior to Nasma, he led IT project delivery at Petroleum Development Oman. His responsibilities included managing large infrastructure and application projects, developing implementation strategies and providing consultancy for telecommunications, computing infrastructure and data centre solutions.
