Qatar is stepping up efforts to modernise its public sector by training government employees in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven auditing and digital governance practices.
The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB) recently hosted a specialised workshop titled “Excellence in Internal Auditing and the Growing Role of Artificial Intelligence.” The programme aimed to help public sector professionals strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency, and support the country’s wider digital transformation agenda.
The initiative was delivered through the Public Administration Institute (PAI) in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), bringing together global academic expertise and practical government applications.
AI Takes Centre Stage in Government Auditing
During the workshop, participants explored how AI is reshaping internal auditing functions across public institutions.
Experts demonstrated how machine learning, predictive analytics, and robotic process automation (RPA) can improve auditing processes. These technologies help auditors analyse large volumes of data more quickly and accurately.
