AI jobs in India remain clustered in a few metro regions, with Bengaluru and Delhi NCR accounting for more than half of all openings, according to CBRE South Asia. The findings, based on December 2025 listings, highlight where demand for AI talent is rising fastest
What the data shows on AI jobs in India
A CBRE South Asia report reviewed more than 64,500 active AI-related job listings on Naukri.com as of December 2025. It found Bengaluru holds a 25.4 per cent share of openings, while Delhi NCR follows closely at 24.8 per cent.
Mumbai ranked third, with 19.2 per cent of the total demand. Together, these three cities represent nearly 70 per cent of all AI jobs in India currently available.
Hiring remains strongest in engineering roles, especially software development and quality assurance. Data Science and Analytics jobs also form a large share of listings. Customer Success, Service and Operations roles complete the top three categories.
Secondary AI hiring hubs in India
Beyond the leading metros, AI hiring hubs in India are expanding into sectors outside traditional IT clusters. Delhi NCR, for example, sees demand from consulting, fintech, healthcare, and public-sector programmes.
This reflects AI’s growing use not only in core development work but also in business-facing functions that support global clients. CBRE noted that India plays a role in both building AI systems and delivering services around them.
Impact on offices and Industry growth
The rise in AI jobs in India also aligns with office leasing trends. Bengaluru led India’s office absorption in 2025 with a 26 per cent share. Total leasing activity reached 82.6 million square feet, and the city captured over one-third of the country’s GCC leasing.
Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO for India, South-East Asia and MEA at CBRE, said AI now links closely to India’s economic and infrastructure development. He added that global firms increasingly view India as a centre for end-to-end innovation rather than only service delivery.
