Info Edge shares rose nearly 4 per cent in Mumbai on January 7, 2026, after the company released December JobSpeak data showing 13 per cent year-on-year growth in white-collar hiring, a signal that non-IT recruitment demand remained firm at the end of 2025.

Info Edge stock climbed as much as 3.96 per cent during Wednesday’s session to ₹1,388.7 per share. The move marked the company’s strongest intraday gain since October 23, 2025. Later, Info Edge traded 2.6 per cent higher at ₹1,370.
At the same time, the benchmark Nifty 50 declined 0.18 per cent. Info Edge shares also snapped a two-day losing streak during the session. Trading volume stood at 4.2 times the 30-day average, according to Bloomberg.
Hiring trends reflected in JobSpeak data
The December JobSpeak Index showed white-collar hiring ended 2025 with 13 per cent year-on-year growth. The October–December period emerged as the strongest quarter of the year, posting a 9 per cent increase. Non-information technology sectors led the hiring momentum.
Insurance recorded 34 per cent overall hiring growth. Fresher recruitment within the sector rose 57 per cent. In contrast, the banking sector saw a 7 per cent year-on-year decline in total hiring, although startups in banking reported 11 per cent growth.
Impact on sectors and workforce
Hospitality hiring expanded 29 per cent during December. Metro markets drove the increase, with Mumbai reporting 28 per cent growth and the Delhi National Capital Region posting a 25 per cent rise. These trends highlighted demand concentration in urban centres.
Pawan Goyal, chief business officer at Naukri, said the sustained strength in non-tech sectors throughout the year resulted in the strongest quarterly hiring performance in October–December. The data reflected an entrenched shift in hiring patterns.
Market context for Info Edge shares
Despite Wednesday’s rise, Info Edge shares remain down 18.6 per cent so far in 2026. Over the same period, the Nifty 50 advanced 7.5 per cent. The company’s market capitalisation stands at ₹89,092.99 crore.
Info Edge continues to publish JobSpeak data as a monthly indicator of hiring activity across sectors. The December release closed the hiring calendar for 2025 with measurable gains outside the technology segment.
