Infosys ₹21 lakh package for entry-level roles was announced on December 26, 2025, as Infosys confirmed higher fresher pay for specialised technology positions in India. The move targets 2025 graduates and aligns with the company’s AI-first hiring strategy amid steady expansion of early-career recruitment.

What the Infosys ₹21 lakh package covers

Infosys ₹21 lakh package applies to specialised trainee roles under its advanced technology tracks. The company plans to hire fresh graduates through campus and off-campus routes for FY26.

The salary range spans multiple levels, not a single role. Entry pay starts lower and scales with role complexity and skill requirements.

Salary structure includes:

  • Specialist Programmer L3 (trainee): ₹21 lakh per annum
  • Specialist Programmer L2 (trainee): ₹16 lakh per annum
  • Specialist Programmer L1 (trainee): ₹11 lakh per annum
  • Digital Specialist Engineer (trainee): ₹7 lakh per annum

Eligible candidates include BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, and integrated MSc graduates from computer science, IT, and select circuit branches.

Infosys off campus hiring expands in FY26

Infosys off-campus hiring forms a key part of this initiative. Recruitment banners and verified posts indicate hiring plans for 2025 graduates across India.

The company has already hired 12,000 freshers in the first half of FY26. It aims to recruit 20,000 graduates by the end of the financial year. Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka confirmed this target during the company’s Q2 earnings call on October 16.

Infosys also reported net headcount additions for the fifth consecutive quarter. The firm added 8,203 employees in the September quarter, taking its total workforce to 331,991.

How Infosys ₹21 lakh package compares with peers

Infosys ₹21 lakh package stands above current entry-level pay across most large IT firms. Fresher salaries in the sector have remained largely flat for years.

Industry data shows median fresher pay rose modestly over the past decade, even as executive compensation climbed sharply. In response, some companies introduced niche hiring tracks.

  • TCS offers digital and prime tracks at ₹7 lakh and ₹11 lakh
  • HCLTech runs an elite fresher programme with higher pay multiples
  • Wipro’s Turbo and WILP tracks offer packages up to ₹6.5 lakh

Infosys now leads this segment with the highest disclosed fresher package.

Why this matters for freshers

Infosys said the hiring supports its AI-first strategy. The company is expanding both employee upskilling and specialised fresher intake to meet evolving digital demand.

“Our early-career hiring combines campus and off-campus drives, with expanded opportunities in the Specialist Programmer track,” Infosys Group CHRO Shaji Mathew said in a statement.

For freshers, the move resets salary expectations. For the sector, it signals renewed competition for AI-ready talent despite broader global tech layoffs.
