According to Business Standard, “Revolut plans to base 40% of its global workforce in India by 2026,” published on March 26, 2026. The Revolut India expansion reflects the European fintech company’s strategy to grow its India global capability centre while increasing hiring across product development, support, and financial services operations.

Revolut India expansion plans major workforce growth

The Revolut India expansion strategy focuses heavily on its technology and operations hub in the country. The company plans to hire around 1,600 employees in India by 2026. As a result, the total workforce in the country could reach about 5,500.

Currently, Revolut employs around 12,000 people globally. However, the company now wants India to host nearly 40 percent of that workforce. Therefore, India will play a larger role in its global operations.

The hiring will support multiple functions. These roles include product development, customer support, payment processing, and fraud investigations. In addition, teams will also handle financial services operations.

Fintech jobs in India gain momentum

The Revolut India expansion highlights the rising demand for fintech jobs in India. Global capability centres in the country now manage key corporate functions. Earlier, many companies treated these centres as outsourcing units.

However, companies now use them for advanced operations. These include research, technology development, financial operations, and compliance monitoring.

Revolut already runs several internal processes from India. About one-third of its global operations now rely on the country’s technology teams. These teams monitor transactions and generate AI-based alerts for suspicious activity.

India tech talent supports Revolut’s global growth

Revolut executives continue to highlight India’s technology workforce. Jonathan Beaney, head of talent acquisition at the company, described India as one of the deepest talent pools in the world.

According to him, the company’s India technology hub supports global scale. The teams provide engineering skills and operational expertise for the fintech platform.

Meanwhile, the Revolut India expansion remains separate from its consumer product rollout in the country. The company has already received approval to issue prepaid payment instruments in India. It also plans to launch its product in the coming quarter. Revolut started operations in 2015 and now holds a valuation of about $75 billion.
