Zoom has expanded its presence in Saudi Arabia with the launch of a new data center, reinforcing its commitment to the Kingdom’s fast-growing digital economy and AI ambitions.
The launch took place under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The event was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority (DGA), along with representatives from Aramco.
The new facility is located within center3, a Saudi-headquartered provider of carrier-neutral data centers and subsea cable infrastructure that connects Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Investment Aligns With Saudi Arabia’s AI Ambitions
The launch builds on Zoom’s wider investment strategy in the Kingdom. Last year, the company pledged $75 million to support innovation and AI development.
Additionally, Zoom plans to invest in the infrastructure needed to scale emerging technologies. The move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s designation of 2026 as the Year of AI.
At the same time, the Kingdom is marking the 10th anniversary of Vision 2030. Therefore, demand for advanced digital services continues to rise across industries.
New Capacity Supports Government and Enterprise Customers
Zoom launched its first regional data center in 2023. That facility already supports organizations that require local data residency.
However, the new center significantly expands capacity. As a result, government agencies and enterprises can access enhanced local support.
The facility will also serve critical national infrastructure organizations. Furthermore, it will help customers meet compliance requirements while managing growing AI workloads.
Zoom Highlights Strong Market Momentum
Mohannad AlKalash, Vice President for the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Pakistan (METAP) at Zoom, said Saudi Arabia remains one of the region’s most dynamic technology markets.
“Saudi Arabia is one of the most forward-looking digital markets in the region, and we’re seeing remarkable momentum here. The new data center bolsters our ability to support customers locally and demonstrates Zoom’s belief in the country’s vision for a more connected, AI-powered future.”
AI Product Launches Complement Infrastructure Expansion
The announcement follows several AI-focused product launches from Zoom.
Most notably, the company recently introduced ZoomMate. The AI teammate is designed to turn conversations into completed work.
In addition, Zoom launched its AI Productivity Suite. The platform helps teams create presentations, reports, and other business documents directly from meeting content.
Consequently, Zoom is expanding both its infrastructure and AI capabilities. This approach helps customers accelerate digital transformation initiatives.
Supporting Vision 2030 Through Long-Term Investment
Saudi Arabia continues to advance its digital agenda. Therefore, technology providers are increasing investments across the Kingdom.
Zoom plans to work closely with local partners. Together, they aim to strengthen the national technology ecosystem.
The new data center reflects Zoom’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia. Moreover, it supports growing demand for AI infrastructure, data sovereignty, and secure digital services.
