Al Masaood Group has appointed Irfan Tansel as Interim Group Managing Director as the company transitions to a Private Joint Stock Company structure.
Tansel will oversee the Group’s strategic direction, operational performance and financial delivery during the interim period based in UAE. He will also represent Al Masaood in engagements with government entities, financial institutions, business partners and other stakeholders.
Irfan Tansel takes interim leadership role
Tansel brings more than four decades of leadership experience to the role. He will continue as Chief Executive Officer of Al Masaood Automobiles alongside his interim Group responsibilities.
At Al Masaood Automobiles, Tansel has led a comprehensive business transformation. Under his leadership, the business delivered record performance across sales, aftersales and customer experience.
He has also focused on business excellence, innovation and customer centricity. These areas form part of his existing leadership responsibilities at Al Masaood Automobiles.
Al Masaood focuses on governance and growth
Al Masaood Group said the corporate transition will strengthen governance and enhance transparency. The Group also linked the move to its long term growth ambitions across its diverse business portfolio.
The interim Managing Director role gives Tansel responsibility for the Group’s overall strategic direction. In addition, he will work with leadership teams across the business to advance strategic priorities and support sustainable long term growth.
The appointment also expands Tansel’s responsibilities beyond Al Masaood Automobiles. His remit now includes Group level operational and financial oversight during the transition.
Chairman outlines leadership priorities
Khalifa Al Masaood, Chairman of the Shareholders’ Supervisory Board, said the Group needed the right leadership for its next phase of growth.
He pointed to Tansel’s experience and record at Al Masaood Automobiles. According to Khalifa Al Masaood, Tansel has strengthened operational performance and customer focus at the automotive business.
“Irfan brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of delivering exceptional results,” Khalifa Al Masaood said.
Khalifa Al Masaood also said he had confidence in Tansel’s ability to lead Al Masaood. He added that Tansel would build on the Group’s values, relationships and standards of excellence.
Al Masaood Group’s business portfolio
Established in 1970, Al Masaood Group was the first company registered with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. The company holds trade registration No. 1.
Al Masaood is an authorised dealer for brands including Nissan, INFINITI, Renault, Bridgestone, MTU, Volvo Penta, Nidec Leroy Somer, Renault Trucks and UD Trucks.
The Group also operates homegrown businesses and brands. Its industrial activities cover oil and gas, utilities, marine, heavy equipment and machinery, logistics, and modular construction.
