Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd. has appointed Roy Zaatar as Managing Director Senior Advisor and Group Head in Dubai. Zaatar joined the Middle East & Africa leadership team on 16 September 2026.
In his new role, Zaatar will lead a group of relationship managers covering the region. He will report to Regis Burger, Head of Middle East & Africa at Julius Baer.
Roy Zaatar brings nearly two decades of experience
Zaatar brings close to two decades of professional experience to the role. His background includes leadership positions in wealth management and financial services.
Before joining Julius Baer, Zaatar spent 11 years with Barclays in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Most recently, he served as Team Leader and Market Head for Arab Diaspora & Global India.
Earlier in his career, Zaatar held positions at Credit Agricole (Suisse) SA. His experience also includes shaping teams and managing client relationships across regional markets.
Julius Baer expands Middle East & Africa leadership
At Julius Baer, Zaatar will oversee a group of relationship managers covering the Middle East & Africa region. The role places him within the bank’s senior leadership team in Dubai.
According to Julius Baer, Zaatar brings an established client network across the Middle East and market experience. The company also cited his strategic approach and focus on risk discipline.
Regis Burger, Head of Middle East & Africa at Julius Baer, said Zaatar would support the firm as it continues to grow and expand. Burger also pointed to Zaatar’s regional client network and market expertise.
The appointment adds Zaatar’s experience to Julius Baer’s existing Middle East & Africa leadership structure. It also follows more than two decades of the firm’s presence in Dubai.

Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd. has been present in the Dubai International Financial Centre since the DIFC’s inception. The firm holds licence number 1 as the first firm authorised by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
Over more than two decades, Julius Baer has built an established international wealth management business in Dubai. The firm serves ultra high net worth and high net worth clients across the region.
The company said Zaatar’s appointment builds on its long standing presence in the DIFC. It also reflects continued investment in the Middle East & Africa leadership team.
