AmCham Oman has introduced a new platform to help tourism businesses build stronger commercial relationships across the Sultanate. The first Tourism Business Exchange, organised by AmCham Oman, brought together companies from different parts of the tourism value chain under one roof in Muscat. Instead of following a traditional conference format, the event focused on direct business meetings that encouraged meaningful networking and practical commercial opportunities.

AmCham Oman connects tourism businesses on one platform

The networking sessions gave businesses an opportunity to introduce their services directly to decision-makers from across Oman’s tourism industry. Instead of relying on traditional meetings, participants held focused discussions that helped them identify shared business interests and explore practical areas for cooperation.

Several companies also used the event to showcase their products and solutions to a wider audience. At the same time, service providers strengthened existing industry connections while building relationships with organisations they had not previously engaged with, creating fresh opportunities for future collaboration.

The organisers designed the exchange as the first step in a broader industry engagement programme. By encouraging direct interaction between tourism stakeholders, the initiative supports stronger business relationships, promotes knowledge sharing, and helps create a more connected tourism ecosystem across the Sultanate.

Tourism investment opportunities in Oman gain momentum

The Tourism Business Exchange was created by the AmCham Oman Tourism Committee with ongoing support from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation across the tourism sector while helping businesses build meaningful commercial relationships. It also provides a structured space where companies can identify new opportunities and expand their professional networks.

Mena Majeed, Director of Strategic Initiatives at AmCham Oman, said the event was designed to deliver measurable business outcomes rather than simple networking opportunities. According to him, participants left with qualified business leads, new supplier connections, stronger market visibility, and conversations that have already progressed into follow-up meetings and potential partnerships.

The committee believes that practical business engagement can help support the long-term development of Oman’s tourism industry. Through this initiative, tourism businesses can connect more effectively, exchange ideas, and explore collaborations that contribute to a stronger and more competitive tourism ecosystem.

Committee plans more industry initiatives for growth

Samir Messaoudi, Chair of the AmCham Oman Tourism Committee and General Manager of JW Marriott Muscat, said the initiative reflects the committee’s commitment to bringing tourism businesses together through practical collaboration. He explained that stronger business connections can help create lasting value for the industry while supporting its continued development.

He also said the committee plans to introduce more programmes that encourage knowledge sharing, commercial engagement, and investment across the tourism sector. These future initiatives will continue to strengthen relationships between businesses and create new opportunities for industry stakeholders.

AmCham Oman thanked Grand Millennium Muscat for hosting the inaugural Tourism Business Exchange and recognised Enterprise Rent-A-Car Oman for its sponsorship and support. The organisation confirmed that the event marks the beginning of a broader series of programmes designed to promote collaboration, expand business networks, and support the long-term growth of Oman’s tourism industry.

AmCham Oman continues to support business growth

As the official affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the Sultanate, AmCham Oman works to strengthen commercial ties between Oman and the United States. The organisation supports businesses through networking events, trade promotion, policy dialogue, and strategic engagement across a wide range of industries.

Through initiatives such as the Tourism Business Exchange, AmCham Oman continues to create platforms that encourage collaboration and connect businesses with new commercial opportunities. These programmes help member companies expand their professional networks while supporting knowledge sharing across the tourism sector.

The organisation also remains focused on building a stronger business environment by encouraging partnerships between local and international companies. By promoting industry engagement and long-term cooperation, AmCham Oman continues to contribute to the growth of Oman’s tourism ecosystem and the wider business community.
