According to The Daily Tribune Bahrain, the Bahrain summer safety campaign concluded its 2026 outreach after supporting more than 4,500 outdoor workers through 11 weekly sessions. The initiative combined heat safety awareness with practical assistance, while reinforcing workplace wellbeing during the hottest months of the year.
Bahrain Worker Welfare Campaign expands community support
The Bahrain worker welfare campaign concluded with its final event at a major worksite in Sitra. Volunteers distributed cold water, fresh fruits, juices, laban and ice cream to more than 500 outdoor workers.
The programme aligned with the Ministry of Labour’s summer safety initiatives. It also received support from the Ministry of Interior, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Bahrain Summer Safety Promotes Health and Awareness
Officials used the event to highlight the importance of heat safety and hydration. Eng. Hussain Al Husaini, Head of Workers at the Ministry of Labour, spoke about ongoing efforts to provide a safe working environment during the summer season.
ICRF Advisor Dr. Babu Ramachandran also shared practical guidance on preventing heat-related illnesses. In addition, workers received advice on staying hydrated and protecting their health while working outdoors.
Campaign strengthens worker wellbeing across Bahrain
ICRF Chairman Adv. V. K. Thomas said the initiative aims to provide immediate support while increasing awareness about health and workplace safety. He also thanked government partners and volunteers for helping the campaign grow over the years.
Campaign coordinators noted that the initiative has steadily expanded into a recognised community outreach programme that supports outdoor workers across Bahrain.
Bahrain Summer Safety builds lasting community impact
Since its launch in 2016, the campaign has supported more than 26,000 outdoor workers across the Kingdom. The closing event also brought together ICRF leaders, community organisations, professional associations and student volunteers.
Through continued collaboration, the Bahrain summer safety initiative strengthens worker wellbeing, promotes safer workplaces and encourages community participation. It also reflects Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to protecting outdoor workers during the peak summer season.
