Ayman Altounji has started a new role as Vice President of Global Procurement at Nokia and is based in Qatar. The appointment follows more than 14 years with the technology company, during which he held a series of senior leadership positions across operations, business transformation and global services.
According to Altounji’s LinkedIn profile, he assumed the Vice President of Global Procurement role in April 2026. Before this appointment, he served as Head of Operations and Transformation, leading transformation programmes, governance, workforce planning and executive reporting across the business.
Ayman Altounji takes on global procurement leadership at Nokia
Altounji brings three decades of international experience in telecommunications, business development, project management and operations to the position. His professional background also includes business transformation, organisational development and service delivery across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the United States.
During his previous role as Head of Operations and Transformation, Altounji oversaw transformation programmes across the business. His responsibilities included governance, workforce management, site strategy, communications planning and executive reporting. The role also involved tracking key performance indicators and supporting organisation wide transformation activities.
Leadership experience across operations and transformation
Before leading operations and transformation, Altounji served as Head of Business Operations for Nokia’s Core Networks business. In that position, he supported continuous improvement programmes, business governance, performance management, reporting, workforce planning and resource management.
Earlier assignments at Nokia included Head of Business Assurance and Transformation, Head of Services for Telenor Group, Senior Transformation Manager, Customer Delivery Manager and Lead Business Manager. These roles covered business recovery, transformation planning, customer delivery, operational improvement and strategic business management across global markets.
Career spans leadership roles across the Middle East and global markets
Before joining Nokia in 2012, Altounji held senior leadership positions with US Telecommunication and Marconi PLC. His earlier career also included roles with FORE Systems in Saudi Arabia and Jeraisy Computers and Communications Services, where he managed customer accounts and business development activities.
