DHR Global has appointed Michael Patrick Okumu-Ringa as Managing Partner, Middle East and Africa. Based in Dubai, he will lead the firm’s regional expansion and develop its executive search and leadership advisory capabilities.
Okumu-Ringa brings more than 14 years of experience living and working across the region. His background spans financial services, technology and digital assets.
DHR Global expands its Middle East and Africa leadership
In his new role, Okumu-Ringa will build DHR Global’s regional team and strengthen its relationships with clients. He will also connect regional organisations with international talent through the firm’s London office.
His responsibilities will include working with boards and senior leaders across sovereign-backed organisations, financial institutions, investment platforms and technology businesses. The role combines regional business development with access to DHR Global’s international executive talent networks.
DHR Global Chief Executive Officer Priya Taneja said the appointment supports the firm’s plans to expand across the Middle East and Africa. She cited Okumu-Ringa’s industry expertise, regional relationships and understanding of clients’ leadership challenges.
Taneja added that his appointment would strengthen the firm’s ability to serve clients locally while drawing on its global capabilities.
Michael Patrick Okumu-Ringa’s executive search experience
Before joining DHR Global, Okumu-Ringa was a partner at a global executive search firm. He led its Financial Services and Technology practices across the Middle East and North Africa. He also managed the firm’s global digital assets coverage.
Earlier, he led senior leadership appointments at Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). In that role, he worked with leadership teams across the fund and its portfolio companies during a period of institutional growth.
This experience spans executive recruitment across established industries and digital assets, alongside leadership appointments within a major Saudi investment institution.
DHR Global has not announced further details about its regional hiring plans or specific targets for the new managing partner.
Leadership priorities across the Gulf
The appointment comes as organisations across the region pursue economic diversification and respond to changes in technology, energy systems and global supply chains.
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 aims to broaden the Kingdom’s economic base. Dubai’s D33 agenda targets a doubling of the emirate’s economy by 2033. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030 place economic diversification and human capability among their long-term priorities.
DHR Global linked these developments to changing leadership requirements across the region. In its announcement, the firm highlighted the need for leaders who can make decisions amid uncertainty, build effective organisations and develop future leadership talent.
Okumu-Ringa said regional leaders were taking on wider international responsibilities and bringing experience developed in the Middle East to other markets.
“Our responsibility is to help clients secure the leadership they need today while developing the capability and succession that will sustain them tomorrow,” he said.
He also pointed to DHR Global’s family ownership and international reach as factors that support a long-term approach to leadership and succession.
DHR Global’s international network

Okumu-Ringa’s appointment adds regional leadership responsibility for the firm’s Middle East and Africa business. His mandate centres on expanding its presence, strengthening executive search and leadership advisory services, and connecting regional clients with talent through DHR Global’s international network.
