SICO Capital has appointed Ali AlFaraj as Head of Information Technology, effective 25 October 2026. The Saudi investment firm will rely on his experience in banking technology to oversee its infrastructure, business systems and client platforms.

The appointment comes as SICO Capital continues to invest in its technology and operating platforms. According to the company, these investments include order and asset management systems, customer relationship management (CRM) and artificial intelligence platforms.

Ali AlFaraj brings GCC banking technology experience

AlFaraj brings more than 12 years of experience in technology leadership across the banking and capital markets sectors in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Before joining SICO Capital, he served as Head of Information Technology and Administration at GIB Capital. During his tenure, he built the company’s IT function and led the launch of its brokerage and electronic trading platforms.

AlFaraj holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain. He also holds relevant professional certifications, according to SICO Capital’s announcement.

Technology leadership and operational priorities

In his new role, AlFaraj will oversee IT infrastructure, business systems, technology implementations and client platforms. His responsibilities will focus on operational resilience and regulatory alignment.

The role also connects technology delivery with SICO Capital’s ongoing platform investments. The company is developing systems across order management, asset management, CRM and AI.

Wissam Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of SICO Capital, said technology supports the company’s growth and its efforts to improve the client experience. He also highlighted AlFaraj’s experience in technology leadership and client-facing financial platforms.

Haddad confirmed that SICO Capital continues to invest in technology in Saudi Arabia through new and ongoing implementations. These include systems for managing orders and assets, customer relationships and artificial intelligence.
