Mohammad Al Qenai has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Sidra Kuwait Hospital, joining the hospital’s executive leadership team. In his new role, he will work with colleagues and partners to support operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth while enhancing the patient experience.

The appointment was announced by Al Qenai on LinkedIn, where he said he was honoured to join a team committed to delivering high quality, patient centred healthcare. He also expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to the hospital’s future development alongside its leadership team.

Mohammad Al Qenai brings healthcare leadership experience

Al Qenai brings more than a decade of healthcare leadership experience across Kuwait and the wider MENA region. According to his professional profile, he has worked in strategic planning, project management and healthcare operations while contributing to operational improvements and organisational growth.

Before joining Sidra Kuwait Hospital, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Care Company (ENAYA). Earlier, he was Head of Medical Services at Kuwait Airways and held senior leadership positions at Health Assurance Hospitals Company (DHAMAN), including Chief Medical Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer. His previous experience also includes serving as Deputy Director at Amiri Hospital and Secretary General of the Kuwait Medical Association.

COO Role focuses on operations and patient care

As Chief Operating Officer, Al Qenai will support Sidra Kuwait Hospital’s operational priorities while working with the hospital’s teams and external partners. His responsibilities include contributing to operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth while helping improve the patient experience, according to his appointment announcement.

Al Qenai holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Kuwait University and an MRCGP qualification from the Royal College of General Practitioners. He also earned a Diploma in Transforming Healthcare Leadership and Management and has completed professional programmes in finance, healthcare economics and strategic management.

His appointment adds an experienced healthcare executive to Sidra Kuwait Hospital’s leadership team as the organisation continues its focus on operational performance, innovation and patient centred healthcare services.
