According to Arab Times Online, in its report, “Here’s What Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower Says About Employers’ and Workers’ Labour Rights,” published on July 27, 2026, Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) issued updated workplace safety guidance under the Kuwait labour rights framework, outlining employer obligations, worker responsibilities and legal protections in the Labour Law to strengthen workplace compliance across the country.

The new advisory forms part of PAM’s “Know Your Rights” campaign on occupational safety and professional conduct. It reminds employers and employees that workplace safety depends on shared responsibility and compliance with the Labour Law.
Under the guidance, employers may require workers to follow workplace safety instructions, use protective equipment correctly and take reasonable steps to protect themselves, their colleagues and the workplace.
Workplace safety protects employers and workers
Kuwait labour rights also guarantee employees the right to work in a safe and healthy environment. PAM said employers must provide all necessary safety and protective equipment free of charge, in line with Articles 83 and 86 of the Labour Law.
The authority also referred to Article 87, which requires workers to follow safety procedures and use protective equipment responsibly while performing their duties.
Employer obligations remain Central under Labour Law
The advisory further highlights employers’ legal responsibility under Article 88 to insure workers against occupational injuries and work-related diseases in accordance with the Labour Law.
These requirements support workplace compliance while helping organisations maintain safer working conditions. They also encourage employers and employees to fulfil their respective legal obligations.

Kuwait labour rights continue to emphasise cooperation between employers and workers to improve occupational health and safety. PAM said workplace protection begins with commitment from both sides and called on organisations to uphold safety standards across all workplaces.
