Infosys will recruit 20,000 college graduates in FY27 as it prepares for higher artificial intelligence workloads. The Infosys hiring plan was confirmed by the company’s leadership during the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos. The move matters as global technology firms continue to reduce staff.

What changed in Infosys hiring outlook

Infosys has already added 18,000 graduates during the first three quarters of FY26. Net headcount rose by more than 5,000 employees in the December quarter. The company expects total fresher hiring in FY26 to reach 20,000.

According to Infosys, client budgets are shifting toward automation and AI-led delivery. Spending growth is now exceeding areas of compression across select services.

How Infosys hiring aligns with AI demand

Infosys chief executive Salil Parekh said demand is emerging across multiple functions. These include software development, customer service, and the modernisation of legacy applications using AI agents and foundation models.

He stated that AI adoption has moved beyond pilot projects. In financial services, Infosys is acting as the AI partner for 15 of its 25 largest clients. These projects are already operating at scale within banks.

Impact of Infosys hiring on workforce strategy

Infosys said pricing models for AI-led work are still evolving. Current projects use a mix of agent-based delivery and combined human-AI teams. However, this structure represents a small share of overall contracts.

Parekh noted cautious optimism among clients for 2026 technology spending. Growth signals from the United States are stronger than those from Europe. Infosys hiring for FY27 reflects expectations of sustained AI-driven demand even as traditional IT services face pressure in some segments.
