HSBC Private Bank has appointed Feras Al Jaramani to lead its UAE market as the bank strengthens its private banking operations in the country.

Al Jaramani will take overall responsibility for HSBC’s private banking business across the UAE. He previously served as Head of the UAE Market for Arab and Emirati Clients.

Feras Al Jaramani to oversee HSBC’s UAE private banking teams

With the expanded role, Al Jaramani will bring HSBC’s UAE private banking teams under a single leadership structure.

The move aims to improve coordination across the business. It will also support faster decision-making and provide clients with a more consistent experience.

Al Jaramani has 25 years of experience in financial services. He has also spent 13 years at HSBC, where he has worked with sovereign and corporate clients in the UAE.

In his new role, he will focus on closer alignment between the bank’s private banking teams. He will also maintain clear governance and accountability across the business.

HSBC targets growth in UAE wealth management

The appointment comes as HSBC continues to expand its wealth management presence in the UAE.

The bank sees the country as a key market for its International Wealth and Premier Banking business. The strategy covers a wide range of clients, from affluent individuals to ultra-high-net-worth families and entrepreneurs.

According to HSBC, the UAE attracts more net inflows of millionaires than any other country in the world. Therefore, the market remains important to the bank’s plans for international wealth management.

HSBC is also targeting a stronger position in the Middle East’s private banking sector.

HSBC Private Bank aims to strengthen client experience

The leadership change is part of HSBC’s broader UAE wealth hub strategy.

The bank wants to bring its private banking operations closer together under one leadership structure. As a result, HSBC expects to create a more integrated approach to serving clients.

Aladdin Hangari, Head of HSBC Private Bank, MENA, said Al Jaramani brings strong experience and a deep understanding of the UAE market.

“Feras is a highly experienced leader who understands the UAE and the needs of our clients here,” Hangari said.

He added that bringing the UAE private banking teams under one leader will sharpen the bank’s focus on helping clients “build, protect and grow their wealth”.

Appointment supports HSBC’s Middle East ambitions

The appointment gives Al Jaramani a wider leadership role at a time when HSBC is looking to strengthen its private banking business in the region.

For HSBC, the UAE is an important hub for wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs and families. The bank’s latest move therefore combines a leadership change with its wider growth strategy for wealth management in the Middle East.
