The report, titled “Responsible Impact Sustainable Value,” focuses on four operational priorities. These include climate action, biodiversity protection, human capital development, and sustainable growth leadership. The company linked these goals with Oman Vision 2040 and the national carbon neutrality roadmap for 2050.

OQ also reported progress in clean energy investments. Its renewable energy portfolio crossed 2,000 megawatts, while new power purchase agreements added more than 740 megawatts from solar and wind projects. The company stated that renewable projects remain part of its wider industrial transition strategy.

OQ expands renewable energy and carbon reduction targets

The OQ Group sustainability report confirmed that the company achieved 100% of its greenhouse gas reduction targets set for 2025. The update also highlighted operational measures aimed at lowering emissions across facilities and industrial projects.

At the same time, OQ maintained zero freshwater consumption across its operations. The company continued work on biodiversity protection programs and circular economy initiatives linked to waste reduction and resource efficiency. These measures formed part of the company’s environmental management framework presented during the event.

Omanisation and local value growth continue across OQ operations

OQ recorded an Omanisation rate of 88% during the reporting period. The group also delivered more than 2,300 hours of specialised training focused on health, safety, and environmental standards. Training programs covered operational safety practices and workforce development across multiple business units.

Meanwhile, local value added retained inside Oman increased by 24% compared with 2024 levels. Spending directed toward small and medium-sized enterprises reached nearly RO 117.7 million, supporting local supply chains and business participation in the energy sector.

The report was presented as part of Oman Sustainability Week 2026, which brings together government entities, energy companies, and environmental organisations working on long-term development targets in Oman.

OQ stated that sustainability reporting remains part of its broader operational strategy as the group continues investment in renewable energy, efficiency programs, and local economic development initiatives across the Sultanate.
