Omantel Q1 2026 profit increased strongly after telecom revenue and investment income from Zain Group boosted group performance in Oman. The company announced on May 13 that net profit reached RO107.9mn in Q1 2026, while total revenue rose to RO856.7mn, according to a filing on the Muscat Stock Exchange.

Omantel Q1 2026 profit supported by Zain group growth

Omantel posted a 52.2% increase in group net profit during the first quarter of 2026. Profit rose from RO70.9mn in Q1 2025 to RO107.9mn this year. Meanwhile, total group revenue increased 6.1% to RO856.7mn from RO807.4mn.

The company linked the earnings growth to stronger EBITDA performance and higher investment income from Zain Group. Net profit attributable to shareholders also increased to RO20.9mn, compared with RO17mn a year earlier.

Telecom revenue drives higher quarterly earnings

Domestic operations also contributed to Omantel Q1 2026 profit growth. Revenue from Oman operations reached RO178mn for the three months ended March 31, 2026, up from RO164.1mn in the same period last year.

Telecom revenue increased by RO13mn across Omantel’s core business portfolio. Fixed-line revenue grew 5%, while wholesale revenue rose 14.5%. Device revenue recorded a 19.2% increase, and mobile revenue edged up 1.1%.

At the same time, ICT and emerging technology revenue increased by RO1mn. The company connected the growth to its TechCo strategy and wider digital transformation plans across the telecommunications sector.

Omantel Q1 2026 profit reflects Telecom investment strategy

Normalised net profit attributable to shareholders declined to RO30.6mn from RO33.5mn in Q1 2025. Omantel said higher depreciation and amortisation costs affected the figure after the company expanded investment in telecom infrastructure and emerging technologies.

Zain Group also reported stronger quarterly performance. Revenue reached RO711.1mn in Q1 2026, compared with RO671.4mn a year earlier. Net profit attributable to Zain shareholders increased to RO99.6mn from RO66.3mn.

Omantel stated that investment across telecom networks and technology operations supports customer services, operational resilience, and long-term business expansion in Oman and regional markets.
