Board Intelligence, the largest board technology and advisory firm in EMEA, has appointed Raja Al Mazrouei to its Advisory Board. The move signals a deeper regional focus as companies across the UAE and the wider Middle East adapt to rapid technological and governance shifts.

Leadership addition aligned with AI and governance priorities

The appointment comes at a time when organisations face increasing pressure to adopt responsible AI while improving board-level decision-making. With this step, Board Intelligence aims to enhance its advisory capabilities and support leadership teams navigating complex operating environments.

Raja Al Mazrouei currently serves as CEO of Etihad Credit Insurance. She also chairs the Harvard Business School MENA Advisory Board. Over the past two decades, she has built expertise across banking, insurance, fintech, and institutional transformation.

Moreover, she holds board positions at several major UAE institutions. These include Al Ansari Financial Services, Zand, Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, Al Masraf, and Ittihad International Investment.

Driving boardroom transformation through responsible AI

Pippa Begg, CEO of Board Intelligence, emphasised that the appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to innovation-led governance. She noted that Al Mazrouei brings a strong understanding of how leaders can apply technology responsibly while improving decision-making.

Importantly, the firm continues to invest in AI-powered tools that help boards operate with greater clarity and foresight. These tools streamline reporting, improve insights, and enable faster, more informed decisions.

Al Mazrouei said she looks forward to supporting organisations as they build resilient and future-ready structures. She highlighted that strong governance will play a critical role as AI reshapes economies and institutions.

Track record in fintech and innovation ecosystems

Earlier in her career, Al Mazrouei played a key role in advancing the UAE’s fintech landscape. At DIFC FinTech Hive, she helped establish one of the region’s leading fintech ecosystems. As Executive Vice President, she drove initiatives that aligned with the UAE’s broader innovation agenda.

Consequently, her experience positions her well to guide Board Intelligence’s regional clients. Her expertise spans digital transformation, financial systems, and public-private collaboration.

Expanding regional presence amid governance evolution

Board Intelligence currently supports more than 80,000 leaders across global indices, including the Fortune 500 and FTSE 100. The firm provides AI-driven software and advisory services designed to improve board effectiveness.

As governance expectations evolve, demand for predictive intelligence and structured decision-making continues to rise. Therefore, this appointment strengthens the company’s ability to serve boards across the Middle East.
