Burjeel Holdings has appointed Reuben George Joseph as Chief Financial Officer, as the GCC healthcare group prepares for its next phase of growth.

The appointment will take effect on October 1, 2026. Joseph currently serves as General Manager, Transformation at Burjeel Holdings.

In his current role, Joseph works across strategic finance, capital allocation, corporate development and transformation in UAE. His move to CFO will therefore bring existing knowledge of the group into its senior finance function.

Reuben Joseph brings 20 years of finance experience

Joseph is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience across finance and corporate functions.

His experience includes financial reporting, controllership, governance, treasury and corporate development. He has also worked on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, valuation and finance transformation.

Before joining Burjeel Holdings, Joseph served as Chief Financial Officer of VPS Health. He has also held board and senior advisory positions.

His current involvement in Burjeel’s strategic finance agenda is expected to support a smooth transition into the CFO role.

Burjeel Holdings plans orderly CFO transition

Muhammed Shihabuddin will remain Chief Financial Officer until September 30, 2026, as previously announced. He will support the transition before Joseph takes over the role.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said Joseph’s existing involvement in strategic finance and transformation initiatives would support the change.

“His appointment provides continuity and brings together financial stewardship, strategic insight and execution capabilities.”

Vayalil also thanked Shihabuddin for his contribution to Burjeel and his support during the transition.

Joseph to focus on growth and operational efficiency

Joseph said his immediate priority would be to ensure a smooth transition while working with Burjeel’s finance leadership team.

He also said he plans to support the group’s growth strategy and improve operational efficiency.

The CFO appointment comes as Burjeel Holdings continues to develop its healthcare business across the GCC. Joseph’s experience across finance, corporate development and transformation will place him at the centre of the group’s financial and strategic agenda.
