Solidarity Bahrain has appointed Layla Mukhtar as Head of Internal Audit. The insurer said the appointment supports its continued focus on strengthening corporate governance, risk management and institutional oversight across the organisation.
Mukhtar brings more than 17 years of experience in internal audit, governance, compliance and risk management. During her career, she has held senior leadership positions across Bahrain’s financial services and corporate sectors. Before joining Solidarity Bahrain, she served as Internal Audit Manager at the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY). She has also worked at Bahrain Airport Services, Ithmaar Bank and Deloitte, where she developed expertise in audit, governance and compliance.
Layla Mukhtar brings extensive Internal Audit experience
Over the course of her career, Mukhtar has led audit teams, developed risk based audit strategies and strengthened internal control systems and corporate governance frameworks. Her professional profile also shows that she served as Head of Internal Audit at Bahrain Airport Services before moving to ASRY.
Mukhtar holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Bahrain. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), awarded by the State of New Hampshire in the United States.
Head of Internal Audit role supports governance framework
Commenting on the appointment, Amer Janahi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Corporate Support at Solidarity Bahrain, said the company was pleased to welcome Mukhtar to its leadership team.
