Dubai Police and the Community Development Authority (CDA) have launched Sawaed Al Watan, a new initiative to help Emirati job seekers find employment and build long-term careers.

The programme brings job seekers, employers and career support services together. It aims to make the hiring process easier while helping Emiratis find roles that match their skills and career goals.

The initiative supports Dubai’s wider efforts to increase Emirati participation in the private sector. It also aims to strengthen financial independence and create more sustainable career opportunities for UAE nationals.

Sawaed Al Watan connects Emiratis with employers

The initiative began with an employment fair at Al Khawaneej Majlis. Emirati job seekers met recruiters from Dubai Police, the Community Development Authority, the Emirates Human Resources Development Council and private-sector companies.

Participants could learn about available vacancies and speak directly with employers. They also received one-on-one career guidance and professional counselling.

In addition, career experts provided practical advice on CVs, applications and interviews. This support is designed to help candidates improve their chances of securing suitable jobs.

Dubai initiative focuses on long-term careers

Sawaed Al Watan goes beyond immediate job placements. The programme also focuses on helping Emiratis develop sustainable career paths.

Major General Ahmad Zaal Bin Krishan Almheiri, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police, said strategic partnerships can play an important role in developing Emirati talent.

“The initiative highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in developing Emirati talent.”

Almheiri said Dubai Police will continue to support initiatives that attract national talent and create sustainable career opportunities.

He added that working with the CDA will help job seekers receive the guidance and training needed to match their qualifications with suitable roles.

Career workshops to support Emirati job seekers

The programme also includes career preparation workshops. These sessions cover job applications, CV improvement, interview skills and workplace readiness.

As a result, participants can prepare before meeting potential employers. The initiative also aims to help candidates understand what companies expect from applicants.

The organisers are working with participating employers to identify vacancies and their requirements. These include qualifications, salary packages, benefits and other incentives.

This approach can help employers find suitable candidates while giving job seekers a clearer view of available opportunities.

Next Sawaed Al Watan job fair in Dubai

The next Sawaed Al Watan employment fair will take place on August 12 at Umm Suqeim Majlis, from 9am to 1pm.

Before meeting employers, participants will attend career preparation workshops. They will also receive guidance on improving their CVs, preparing for interviews and understanding workplace expectations.

The initiative supports the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which focuses on building a more prosperous and cohesive society.

By combining recruitment with career guidance and professional development, Sawaed Al Watan aims to improve employment opportunities for Emiratis while supporting greater participation in the labour market.

Why the initiative matters for Emiratisation

The programme comes as UAE employers continue to increase their focus on hiring and developing Emirati talent.

For job seekers, the initiative provides direct access to employers as well as support before and during the recruitment process.

For companies, it creates another channel to identify qualified Emirati candidates and meet their workforce needs.

Therefore, Sawaed Al Watan combines job placement, career development and Emiratisation support in one programme.
