Qatar’s Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has welcomed 33 Qatari male and female engineers to its Project Management Development Programme.
The programme targets newly graduated Qatari engineers. It aims to strengthen their technical and professional capabilities. Participants will also gain practical skills to manage complex infrastructure projects.
Ashghal’s Human Resources Department supervises the programme. The latest intake supports the authority’s efforts to prepare more Qatari engineers for greater responsibilities.
Programme aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030
Ashghal said the programme forms part of its wider investment in national talent.
The authority is developing engineering capabilities that can support future infrastructure projects. In addition, the initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the country’s Third National Development Strategy.
Through the programme, participants receive training that combines theoretical learning with practical application. As a result, they can develop the knowledge and experience needed for the workplace.
Ashghal expands development pathways for graduates and employees
The Project Management Development Programme is part of Ashghal’s wider portfolio of accredited training initiatives.
These include the Graduate Development Programme for non-engineering graduates. The authority also runs the Administrative Development Programme for employees in support functions.
Depending on the programme, training can run from 12 to 36 months. The schemes combine structured learning with practical experience.
Consequently, participants can build skills while preparing for long-term careers within the authority.
161 engineers and employees completed earlier training batch
Ashghal has continued to expand its investment in professional development.
In May, the authority honoured 161 engineers and employees who completed the fourth batch of its specialised training programmes.
The programmes aim to create clearer career pathways for Qatari professionals. They also support continuous learning and help develop future leadership capabilities.
Ashghal is preparing Qatari talent to contribute to projects across roads, drainage, buildings and other critical infrastructure sectors.
With the addition of 33 new engineers, the authority continues to strengthen its national workforce pipeline. The latest intake could also support the efficient delivery of future infrastructure projects and Qatar’s wider development ambitions.
