Kuwait’s Kuwait Labour Market is open to more qualified Indonesian workers, Ambassador Khaled Al-Yaseen said on September 21 in Kuala Lumpur. He made the remarks after meeting Indonesian Minister Mukhtarudin to discuss worker recruitment, labour cooperation and safeguards for Indonesian workers.
Kuwait Labour Market seeks skilled workers
Kuwait Ambassador to Indonesia Khaled Al-Yaseen said Kuwait welcomes trained Indonesian workers who meet the needs of its labour market. He spoke to KUNA after meeting Indonesian Minister of Migrant Workers Protection Mukhtarudin.
The two officials discussed bilateral cooperation in labour affairs. They also examined ways to support and develop cooperation between Kuwait and Indonesia.
Kuwait recruitment of Indonesian workers gains focus
The Kuwait recruitment of Indonesian workers was among the issues discussed during the meeting. Al-Yaseen called for discussions on mechanisms that can regulate recruitment while protecting the interests of all parties.
Meanwhile, Mukhtarudin said Indonesia is ready to work with Kuwait to provide professional and skilled workers. These workers could serve both Kuwait’s public and private sectors.
Kuwait Labour Market and worker rights
Legislation in Kuwait covers workers’ rights and workplace conditions. Al-Yaseen said Kuwait has adopted laws that regulate the work environment and protect workers.
At the same time, Indonesia remains focused on protecting its citizens working overseas. Mukhtarudin reaffirmed the Indonesian government’s commitment to safeguarding Indonesian workers abroad.
Kuwait-Indonesia cooperation covers employment
The latest discussions add labour affairs to the areas of cooperation between Kuwait and Indonesia. The Kuwait recruitment of Indonesian workers remains linked to the need for qualified and trained personnel across sectors.
Al-Yaseen said Kuwait and Indonesia should continue discussions on recruitment mechanisms. Meanwhile, Mukhtarudin expressed Indonesia’s readiness to cooperate in providing skilled workers for Kuwait’s public and private sectors.
The Kuwait Labour Market therefore remains a key area in the bilateral labour discussions. Both sides also highlighted worker protection as part of their cooperation.
