The Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) has appointed Aminata Dramé as its ChooseWOMEN Ambassador for Bahrain. The appointment follows approval by WEDO’s Board of Directors, which welcomed her into its global leadership community on 16 October 2026.
Dramé’s three-year strategic roadmap focuses on advancing women’s entrepreneurship, economic empowerment and business opportunities in Bahrain. Her work centres on connecting women entrepreneurs with the visibility, relationships and resources they need to grow.
Aminata Dramé brings women’s entrepreneurship experience
Dramé is the founder of Women Impact Consulting and an ecosystem builder with experience across Senegal, France and Bahrain. Since 2016, she has supported women entrepreneurs through digital readiness initiatives and community programmes.
In 2024, she launched Women Impact in Bahrain to connect women with opportunities, partnerships and resources. Her work has included delivering more than 20 programmes, collaborating with over 100 partners and training more than 1,000 women.
These activities provide context for her new role, which aligns with WEDO’s focus on women’s entrepreneurship and economic participation. Her stated priorities include building connections that help women founders develop their businesses and contribute to Bahrain’s economy.
WEDO appointment focuses on women’s economic empowerment
The appointment comes alongside plans for a Women’s Entrepreneurship Day celebration organised by Women Impact Consulting. The event is scheduled for 21 November 2026, from 3pm to 6pm at Swiss-Belhotel in Bahrain.
The programme will feature founder stories from six sectors and a panel discussion titled “From Local to Global”. It will highlight women-led businesses and their contributions to Bahrain’s economy.
Attendance is complimentary, but advance registration and confirmation are required. H.E. Ambassador Shiferaw Geneti, Consul General of Ethiopia, has confirmed attendance, alongside representatives of Royal Bahrain Hospital and other organisations.
Connecting women founders with opportunities
In a LinkedIn post, Dramé described her appointment as both an honour and a responsibility. She said she looked forward to connecting women entrepreneurs with the visibility, relationships and opportunities that could support their growth.
She also highlighted the importance of collective support, stating: “No woman rises alone.”
Through her ambassador role and work with Women Impact Consulting, Dramé plans to continue supporting connections across Bahrain’s women’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. The November celebration will provide a further platform to bring together founders, institutions, diplomats and supporters.
