Carmignac has opened a new office in Dubai and appointed Christophe Younes, CFA, as Senior Executive Officer. Based in Dubai, Younes will support the development of Carmignac’s distribution across the UAE and the wider region.

The appointment will focus on strengthening relationships with institutional and wealth investors. Younes will also be supported by a board of directors that includes Habib Achkar.

Christophe Younes brings investment experience

Younes returns to Carmignac after serving as a Vice President at PIMCO from 2024 to 2026. His role there covered EMEA business development and capital raising across France and Monaco.

Before joining PIMCO, Younes spent 10 years at Carmignac. His previous roles included Sales for Banks and Institutionals in France and Monaco, Head of Fixed Income Product Specialist and Fixed Income Product Specialist.

Younes also held earlier roles in finance at LVMH and in private banking at J.P. Morgan. He is a CFA charterholder and holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Université Paris Dauphine.

Carmignac expands its UAE distribution

In his new role, Younes will work on Carmignac’s distribution across the UAE and the wider region. The company said the role will focus on relationships with institutional and wealth investors.

Carmignac’s investment capabilities cover equities, fixed income, multi-asset, alternatives and private assets. The company said these capabilities are intended to support clients in the UAE and across the GCC seeking diversified portfolios through changing market conditions.

The new Dubai office forms part of Carmignac’s wider international expansion strategy. The company said the decision reflects its confidence in the UAE’s long-term growth prospects.

Carmignac also plans to build relationships with local and regional investors through its presence in the UAE. The company described the country as one of the world’s fastest-growing wealth markets.

Leadership focus in the Middle East

Rose Ouahba, Group Deputy CEO and a board member of Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg and Carmignac Middle East, said the Dubai office supports Carmignac’s international ambitions in growth markets.

Ouahba also highlighted the company’s experience working with private banks and institutional clients across Europe. She said Carmignac intends to bring that expertise to the UAE while learning from local and regional institutions.

Welcoming Younes back to Carmignac, Ouahba said his experience advising private wealth clients internationally made him suited to lead the company’s expansion in the market.

The appointment gives Carmignac a dedicated senior executive in Dubai as the company develops its distribution and investor relationships across the UAE and wider region.

Younes currently serves as Senior Executive Officer and Head of Middle East at Carmignac, based in Dubai.
