The UAE Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have announced an early spring break for schools and universities across the country.

The holiday will now run from Monday, March 9, to Sunday, March 22, 2026. The decision applies to all public and private schools and universities. It covers students, teachers, and administrative staff nationwide.

Early Holiday Introduced as a Precaution

Authorities said the move aims to support student safety during ongoing regional developments.

Under the original 2025–2026 academic calendar, many schools planned to hold their final classes on March 13. Spring holidays were set to begin on March 16, with classes scheduled to resume on March 30.

However, education authorities chose to advance the break as a precaution.

Distance Learning Implemented Before the Break

Earlier, schools across the UAE moved to online classes. Distance learning will continue until Friday, March 6.

Officials introduced the temporary shift after regional tensions increased. The move allowed schools to maintain learning while reducing safety risks.

In Dubai, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority confirmed that private schools in the emirate will follow the federal decision.

Schools Await Further Guidance

Several international and private schools are now waiting for updates from their education authorities. These updates will clarify academic schedules and assessments after the break.

Schools continue to inform parents and students about timetable changes and academic plans.

Authorities Urge Families to Follow Official Updates

Officials have encouraged students, parents, and school staff to rely on official government channels for updates.

The ministries said the early break supports safety while keeping the education system stable during the current regional situation.
