The company’s global–local model plays a crucial role here. It combines Lenovo’s international scale and innovation with strong local leadership. As a result, it enables faster decision-making and deeper market impact within the Kingdom.
Commenting on the appointment, Tareq Al Angari said Salman’s leadership comes at a critical time. He added that Saudi Arabia sits at the centre of Lenovo’s regional growth plans. Furthermore, he emphasised that Salman’s market expertise and strong industry relationships will help accelerate execution and expand Lenovo’s footprint.
Veteran leadership with deep technology expertise

In addition, he has worked closely with government and enterprise stakeholders to support the Kingdom’s digital and AI transformation agenda. He has also played a key role in developing local talent and strengthening in-country capabilities. Consequently, his efforts have contributed to positioning Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in digital readiness and cybersecurity.
Focus on local capability building and ecosystem growth
Speaking on his appointment, Salman said Saudi Arabia is entering a defining phase of digital and AI transformation. He noted that Lenovo is well-positioned to support this shift with its end-to-end technology portfolio and global expertise.
He also highlighted his commitment to working closely with customers, partners, and the broader ecosystem. His goal, he said, is to deliver impact at scale while building sustainable local capabilities.
Lenovo doubles down on localisation and long-term investment
