OETC has appointed Ahmed Al Rahbi as Chief Operations Officer, according to an announcement shared by the company. The appointment adds a senior operations role to Al Rahbi’s more than two decades of experience with OETC in Oman.
Al Rahbi’s professional profile lists more than 20 years with OETC. His experience spans corporate affairs, asset management, asset performance, transmission operations, maintenance and electrical project engineering.
Ahmed Al Rahbi brings extensive OETC experience
Before his new appointment, Al Rahbi served as General Manager, Corporate Affairs at OETC from April 2024. In that role, he worked across corporate strategy, business planning, performance management, risk management and business continuity.
He also held the position of General Manager, Asset Management between April 2023 and June 2024. Earlier, he served as Senior Manager, Asset Management & Planning and Acting Senior Manager in the same function.
Operations experience spans transmission and projects
Al Rahbi’s earlier OETC roles include Manager, Asset Performance Management, Asset Performance Management Section Head and Transmission Regional Manager. He also served as OHL & UGC Maintenance Section Head from January 2011 to April 2013.
His experience also includes electrical project engineering. From July 2006 to December 2010, he worked on tendering, contracts, project delivery, progress monitoring and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Ahmed Al Rahbi’s academic background
Al Rahbi holds a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University, completed between 2019 and 2020. He also holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University.
His profile also lists logistics management, programme delivery and communication among his top skills. He is based in Muscat, Oman.
OETC appointment adds to operations leadership
OETC announced Al Rahbi’s appointment as Chief Operations Officer in a LinkedIn post. The company referred to his appointment to the new role and wished him success in his responsibilities.
