Cloudera has appointed Koen van Erp as its new EMEA Alliances and Channels Leader, reinforcing the company’s commitment to expanding its partner-led growth strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The appointment comes as Cloudera accelerates its ecosystem-driven business model to help enterprises unlock greater value from hybrid cloud, data management and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. As a result, van Erp will play a central role in strengthening strategic partnerships and expanding market reach across the region.
Experienced Technology Executive Joins Cloudera
Van Erp brings more than 15 years of experience in building channel ecosystems, partner programs and commercial teams across global technology companies and emerging startups.
He spent 12 years at Google, where he helped scale the EMEA partner sales organization for Google Cloud Security to more than $100 million in annual recurring revenue. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at IronCloud, where he contributed to the company’s go-to-market strategy for its AI-powered Security Operations as a Service platform.
Consequently, his experience in cloud technologies, cybersecurity and partner development aligns closely with Cloudera’s long-term growth plans.
Focus on Strategic Alliances and Sovereign Cloud Opportunities
In his new position, van Erp will work closely with Cloudera’s EMEA sales teams while overseeing the company’s channel and alliance strategy across the region.
His priorities include strengthening relationships with regional system integrators and expanding collaboration with partners addressing growing Sovereign Cloud requirements. In addition, he will deepen strategic engagements with major technology providers, including AWS, Nvidia, Dell Technologies, AMD and IBM.
Cloudera believes these partnerships will help organizations navigate increasingly complex hybrid data environments while accelerating AI adoption.
“Strong ecosystems are not built by simply adding more partners,” van Erp said. “They are created by focusing on meaningful relationships, understanding partner needs and enabling them to invest back into customer success.”
He added that Cloudera’s flexible architecture allows partners to help organizations transform the complexity of hybrid data and AI environments into a competitive advantage.
Partner Network Remains Central to Growth Strategy
The Cloudera Partner Network (CPN) continues to serve as a cornerstone of the company’s channel-first approach.
The program provides partners with training resources, incentive programs, development funding and access to an enhanced partner portal. Furthermore, Cloudera has expanded financial benefits and technical support to help partners address complex regulatory requirements and Sovereign Cloud demands across EMEA markets.
The company says ongoing improvements to the program are based directly on partner feedback, ensuring greater support for local market needs.
Cloudera Sees Partner-Led Model Driving Faster Growth
Michelle Hoover, Senior Vice President of Alliances and Channels at Cloudera, said the technology industry is entering a new phase where enterprises demand unified platforms rather than fragmented infrastructure environments.
According to Hoover, Cloudera’s partner-led approach is already generating strong business outcomes. Partner-sourced opportunities are closing faster, achieving higher win rates and creating larger expansion opportunities for customers.
“We are excited to welcome Koen to Cloudera,” Hoover said. “His experience building high-performing channel organizations will help accelerate our vision and strengthen our world-class partner ecosystem across EMEA.”
Hybrid Data and AI Remain Core Focus Areas
Cloudera positions itself as a leading hybrid data and AI platform provider, enabling organizations to manage and analyze data across public clouds, on-premises data centers and edge environments.
The company continues to invest heavily in AI, governance and data management capabilities, helping enterprises gain deeper insights, improve security and support faster decision-making while maintaining control of their data assets.
