Abu Dhabi-based real estate major Aldar Properties has appointed Omar Abdel Ghaffar as Senior Vice President – Sales for Dubai, effective January 2026, according to people familiar with the development.
Over two decades of cross-sector leadership experience
Ghaffar brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning real estate development, contracting, manufacturing, and large-scale operations across the Middle East and North Africa. In his new role, he will be responsible for strengthening Aldar’s sales strategy and driving growth across its Dubai portfolio, as the company continues to expand its footprint beyond Abu Dhabi.
Senior roles at DAMAC, Travco, Edita and Orascom
Prior to joining Aldar, Ghaffar served as Senior Vice President – International at DAMAC Properties, where he oversaw international mixed-use developments and led end-to-end development cycles, including launch strategies. He has also held senior leadership positions at Travco Properties, Edita Food Industries, and Orascom Housing Communities, building a strong track record in P&L management, operational transformation, and large-scale project delivery.
Strong academic and executive education credentials
Ghaffar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Concordia University and has completed executive education programmes at INSEAD and the Kellogg School of Management, with a focus on executive management and operations.
Appointment aligned with Aldar’s Dubai growth strategy
The appointment comes at a time when Aldar is sharpening its focus on Dubai as a key growth market, amid sustained demand and increased investment activity in the UAE’s real estate sector.
